How Have You Positively Impacted Your Community?

Serving others is a rewarding and fulfilling activity for many people. National service offers personal growth, development, and giving back at the same time, which creates a sense of completion and purpose for those who choose to participate.

Volunteering is an excellent way to gain life skills and develop a greater understanding of cultural diversity. There are many valuable lessons that can be learned through volunteering, from enhanced communication to a greater sense of kindness and community. It also allows people to unify communities in ways not previously possible. However, there should be more voluntary services in order to change society for the better.

Making a social impact beyond five minutes is important and volunteering for more than just those few hours can benefit you and your community. The military is always one of the first to respond when disaster strikes, so their service has a lot of meaning. Through social media, I was able to see pictures from my battle buddies deployed in Harvey’s path at the Texas/Louisiana border – scenes that are hard to believe even years later.

When the military responds to a time of tragedy, they have a major impact. Their response provides an assurance and helps restore peoples’ faith in themselves and the future. They play an important role in rebuilding damaged communities and moving forward in uncertain times when life around them isn’t hopeful.

If you’re looking for a meaningful way to give back, IFF such as the military may be for you. By reflecting on your experiences and giving back, you will likely enjoy a more fulfilling life.

My drill sergeants continuously emphasized how I’d made the decision to become a part of something bigger than myself. They also explained that my military service has provided me with many valuable life lessons, and major fulfillment. As a result, I’m now who I am today.

One of the most significant leadership lessons I learned in the military was to be fearless. Having served in the military, I learned many important virtues that have helped me succeed both at work and when I started my own small business years later. There are many different values that can help you get through life, especially when you’re still growing as a young adult. The power of service is usually measured by how much it benefits the community you belong to – and how much control people feel they have over their society.

My friends and I bonded very quickly because of the shared experiences we have in common. Characteristically, a lot of my friends at SMCC are veterans. Veterans shared similar backgrounds of hard work and sacrifice for their country.

A great way for veterans to get involved in the community at large is through public service programs. Through these programs, members of the veteran community can easily find and form friendships with others. Aside from these meaningful relationships, everyone in the United States could benefit from sharing this experience with each other.

In order to serve in the military, there are a number of restrictions including time commitments and health issues. The U.S. is not an option for some students because they need to complete at least a few years of service before joining the military and getting a career there.

In times of need, we need to all come together and give back. Volunteering can help us develop great values and an understanding of ourselves. We can be more unified when we volunteer to help those in our society who need it most. I ask you to do some research on active duty in the military, National Guard and Reserve Component, or any other service available so that you can make a positive impact on your community as well as yourself.
